Borasu pass is one of the many passes that cross into Himachal from Uttarakhand. It connects the Tons river valley with Baspa river valley. It is a high but practical traverse into the great Kinnaur Valley and takes 3 to 4 days from Har Ki Dun forest rest house to Chitkul road head in the Baspa Valley. From Har ki Dun the trail heads North along the Marinda Gad(river).

Har Ki Doon, some say it is the abode of lord shiv, and some say it’s the abode of all gods. Whatever it may be, it was surely our abode for a day and two nights. It was bliss, happiness and sense of fulfillment for us all.

The descend of around 30 odd kms, from there was comparatively easy but more frustrating as we approached our last base at Sankli, because a sense of colossal loss gripped us thick and fast as we touched our base at Sankli. Next day we were supposed to move back to the life filled with madness and hustle and bustle.

We all must have cursed our short lived fortunes, of being in places, full with peace and serenity, joy and happiness and cursed our misfortunes of leaving behind moments when we could identify ourselves with the nature.

Kedarkantha peak at 12500 ft. seem to be too remarkable, but as the name says shaped like Shiva’s Neck, (Kedar means Lord Shiva and Kantha means Neck), actually one of the most scenic trek and offers great views to the Himalayan ranges, reason behind making it to one of the Top 10 treks in India.
The trek was now taking its shape as the views around us were getting better and better with the each step. There were pine trees all around us covered with snow in their branches. There was silence with no ambient noises of any kinds except the voices of nature, birds chirping, water falling off a cliff some place far and winds blowing through the leaves. Oh my god it was just awesome to just feel this and for me personally I started feeling one
with nature.

Valley of Flowers is one of those places which one has to visit atleast once in lifetime. Located at varied height of more than 3200 metres, this UNESCO world heritage site (for natural biosphere) is in Uttarakhand state of India. On way to Badrinath from Rishikesh is famous temple town of Joshimath. Another 12 kilometres from there is Govindghat. From here is a trek to Ghangharia along the Laxman Ganga river. From Ghangharia, there are two route- one takes uphill right to Hemkund and another one left to Valley of Flowers, one of the most beautiful places on this earth, known for high altitude valley carpeted by a rare mix of natural flowers, herbs and shrubs.

This is actually the time of the year, August-September, when valley is at its full bloom. Cloudburst in June this year, made most of this area inaccessible this time, but things are improving . A place to cherish.
