Overview

Chopta Chandrashilla Trek is one of the most quaint treks in the Garhwal Himalayas for adventurous trekkers. If you want to go for a snow trekking then you can go for Chopta Chandrashilla Trek at the time of winters because during the months of December and January it experiences heavy snowfall.

Tungnath is a Shiva temple that is considered as the highest among all the Himalayas and surprisingly Chandrashila peak is a rock face above it.

One of the most stunning treks in the Garhwal region, the Deoriatal-Chopta-Chandrashila trek beautifully presents the grandeur of the Himalayas. There aren’t many treks that offer vantage points like Chandrashila with astounding panoramas of mountains, the likes of Nanda Devi, Bandarpoonch, Chaukhamba, Kedar peak amp Mt. Trishul.

Along the trek, you get to see a beautiful emerald lake Deoriatal, the holy shrine of Tungnath, the highest Shiva Temple in the world, and the captivating summit point of Chandrashila. This trek offers so much while also being an easy-moderate trek, suitable for beginners.  The fascinating trek takes you to an altitude of approximately 12,100 ft above sea level with rewarding views.

The Himalayan hamlet Chopta is a picturesque destination in itself, steeped in nature’s abundance. It’s an unexplored destination in Uttarakhand where you can reconnect with nature and refresh and rejuvenate yourself. There are lots of delight on this trek that makes it such a rewarding experience.

Itenirary

We will start the drive from Haridwar Railway Station to Sari which is a small 7 beautiful village. Although it will be a long drive but definitely an enthralling one because we will drive through holy towns like Rishikesh, Dev Prayag, and Rudra Prayag. Night stay will be scheduled in the guest house.

After having the lip-smacking morning breakfast, we will start the morning trek for Deoria Tal which is considered as a high altitude lake. Do have a look at the reflection of Chaukhamba peak in its tranquil water because this is something you just cannot miss. Same day we will be also driving to Chopta.

Start your beautiful day by climbing the slopes of Chopta. From Chopta it will take only a few hours to reach Tungnath temple which is devoted to Lord Shiva and is more than 1000 years old. After this, we will be reaching to Chandrashilla peak from where you can have superlative views of different Himalayan peaks like Chaukhamba, Nanda Devi, and Trishul.

From here we will be returning back to base camp Chopta and stay.

After having breakfast, we will drive back to Haridwar and between the route you will explore some amazing views. The trek ends here with some beautiful memories.
