Lord Shiva is the supreme most god in Hinduism, hence also named Mahadev (the god of the gods). It is believed that he is the creator, destroyer, and transformer of the universe. People having faith in Hinduism worship lord Shiva. As per stories and legends, Lord Shiva is looked upon as the God of mercy and compassion towards his worshippers. There are thousands of Shiva temples in India, but the Char Dham yatra (four pilgrim journeys) holds a special place and importance in Hinduism. Kedarnath is one of the four pilgrims. It is a must-visit for all people having faith in Lord Shiva. Also amongst the twelve Jyotirling, the holy Kedarnath temple is of uttermost importance. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience of divinity, faith, and spirituality. The word Kedar means “fields” and Nath means “lord” meaning lord of the fields. Kedarnath is 223 kms. from Rishikesh. It is situated at the height of 3583 mtrs. The temple is located in the Garhwal Himalayan range of Uttarakhand, India. Before 2013 there was an old route that passed from Rambada, but due to the massive flash floods, this route got destroyed and now not accessible for the trek. Hence a new route is now formed to reach Kedarnath temple.

The journey begins from Haridwar (reporting at 5am / Rishikesh (reporting at 6:15am) . We will use Char Dham highway route by the shore of holy Ganga River and ends in Sonprayag which is at the shore of Mandakini River. We shall leave from Haridwar by 5am and Rishikesh at 6:15 am. We will stop for breakfast in Sri Nagar . During this journey we witness various cities, Himalayan villages and the three “Prayags” i.e. the Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Karnapyrayag. On the way we get to see the holy “Sangam” or union of two rivers- Bhagirathi and Alaknanda. This union is a visual treat to eyes. It’s so blissful and divine. Srinagar also falls into this route. This entire road journey is full of scenic views. We bet your heart would be filled with joy and excitement. This is a thrilling journey. Depending on the traffic, we shall reach Gupatkashi by 3 p.m. approximately. By the time we reach here, it would be lunch time. Hence we shall have our lunch (only this lunch is included in entire trip) and rest. Our campsite is located is very peaceful and beautiful village Devar. The panoramic snow capped mountain range view from property is breathtaking. We will have one small acclimatise walk towards uphill from our camps. A panoramic view will amaze your mind and soul (walk is only possible if we reach on time, due to traffic if we late then we will plan it after the yatra trek) After spending a peaceful evening, we shall have our dinner early and then head back to beds to get ample rest and prepare ourselves for next day’s trek. We'll be reaching our today's destination by approximately 3 p.m. Dinner & stay will be in a semi-luxury attached washroom swiss camps at Devar (Gupatkashi) We shall start by 2am from campsite and try to reach 4am at Sonprayag. From there we will take shuttle cab for Gaurikund. You may proceed for Day 2 itinerary for more details.

This will be D-Day for you all. Due to heavy rush at Yatra , we planned itinerary whereas you will enjoy the trip instead of struggling. 1:30am is wake up time and sharp 2am we will leave campsite and drive to Sonprayag. We start early morning around 4 a.m. from Sonprayag and head towards Gaurikund. Due to heavy rush, our team already done few trials for timings, this is best time to start the trek otherwise if you reach Sonprayag by 5am or afterwards, you need to be in queue approx 1 km to take shuttle for Gaurikund. So our timings will be strict for this day. If someone not able to match the timings, trip leader won’t wait for them and rest of clients will leave from Gupatkashi camps to Sonprayag. We shall have our breakfast en route. At Gaurikund, we may stop for hot water springs. You can enjoy that for a time being. From Gaurikund our actual trek begins which is approximately 18 kms to Kedarnath temple. This is a steep trek. It’s a moderate level trek which requires a good physical fitness. Before the trek begins the physical fitness of every visitor is checked there. People having respiratory issues and high blood pressure must avoid this trek. It’s a high altitude trek; hence one must consult a doctor before trekking. While trekking we can see snow clad mountains from distance. Despite of all the hardships, the beauty of this trek is astounding. This valley is surrounded by glaciers and waterfall. The cool breeze and the scenic views are heavenly. You will forget all the worldly worries and your heart would be filled with sheer happiness. In 5-6 hours i.e. at around 3 p.m. we shall reach Kedarnath Valley. In the evening we can attend the evening “Aarti” or prayer at the temple. The evening aarti last for one hour. Let your soul get drenched in the sacred vibes of prayers and let your spirituality take you to a different world of faith and divinity. It gets quite cold here at night. This night at the valley is a special one as you can feel the sacredness inside and outside of you. It gets quite cold here at night. This night at the valley is a special one as you can feel the sacredness inside and outside of you. Overnight stay just near to temple in hotel on quad or five bed sharing basis. Note : It can get rushy during festive days & public holidays. Please cooperate with the ground handling team in case there needs to be some adjustments in the accommodation. Ps: it’s advisable to take darshan in Evening which is less crowded as compare to morning timings. Food inclusion:- Breakfast en route and Dinner at Kedarnath (Kedarnath's all guest house and dhaba’s prepare only Daal, sabji with rice or roti. Menu options are very limited here, request everyone to prepare your mindset for the same, you won’t get more choices here)

Next morning at 5 a.m. the morning prayer begins. You can see the beautiful golden rays of the rising sun falling on the temple. We must stand in the queue for our turn to worship (for darshan) and to offer the offering to lord Shiva. Once we are done with morning prayer at the temple, we shall head back to Sonprayag / Guptkashi. It usually take 4-6 hrs to descend back to Gaurikund. Using shuttle service we'll drive back to Sonprayag. According to your hotel booking we will move to Gupatkashi/Rishikesh. We shall reach by 3pm max at Sonparyag so thus we can drive back to Rishikesh/Gupatkashi. Overnight stay in semi luxury camps at Rishikesh/Gupatkashi. PS: If group couldn't reach on time due to any uncertain reason , or change in itinerary due to unforseen reason , clients need to bear for that accommodation and food cost.

Today morning you will wake up with very beautiful view from our campsite. After breakfast around 10 am you may check out from camps. This journey has filled us with immense peace, calm, and happiness as if lord Shiva has blessed us. After this soul nourishing journey to the Kedarnath we shall bid adieu each other. May lord Shiva bring all happiness and success in your life. Jai Baba Kedar.
